WCC Spud Run - Updated for 2010

Greetings Spud Runners!

History of the WCC's Premier Spring Ride-and-gathering!
In 1992 a couple of intrepid Blue Knights invited all Blue Knights to join them at the "Super 8 Motel" in Boise for a weekend of festivities and friendship. No registration, no organized rides, no pins or T-shirts. 18 people showed up. The following year was moved to an old motel across from the University Inn (where the Starbucks' is now located). Several years later, and with greater numbers, the gathering moved to the University Inn. Even though numbers have grown to as many as 200 folks attending, the Spud Run remains unchanged as it is an “unofficial” run... Just name a place and folks will be there to have a good time!

As most have heard the University Inn has been sold to the University and will be closing come October 2006. Some of the original Spud Runners discussed the impending closure and in the face of rampant rumours of the “demise of the Spud Run” asked a Blue Knight with contacts in Boise to help with an “unofficial” search to find a possible replacement establishment to which Blue Knights would "unofficially" be invited. We are pleased to announce a place has been found for 2007 where, once again, everyone is invited!

ANNOUNCEMENT: A number of you have never attended the Unofficial Gathering of Blue Knights in Boise, ID over Memorial Day weekend, so here is the information in plenty of time to plan. This weekend is just a gathering, no formal agenda, just meet fellow Blue Knights from the WCC, visit, have a BBQ together and ride home with old or new friends.

DATES: Arrival Friday May 28, 2010, Depart Sunday May 30th. Some Blue Knights arrive a day early and/or stay a day later, our good room rates apply.

PLACE: Rodeway Inn-Boise 1115 North Curtis Rd, Boise ID 83706

ROOM RATES: Ask for the Blue Knights rate

RESERVATIONS: (800) 727-5002 or (208) 376-2700 If full they will refer you to other local hotels but keep checking back for vacancies which often occur when weather or work dictate last minute cancellations.

BBQ: Usually an annual BBQ where we crown the Mr and Mrs Patatoe Head each year will be on Saturday after dinner in the pool area of the Rodeway Inn. Tickets are required and reasonable; they are available at the hotel desk.
